The LSR® process provides a flexible, compact and economical alternative for plain or modified aluminides internally and/or externally on Nickel, Cobalt, and Iron based alloys. The microstructure, chemistry and oxidation behaviour is similar or superior to the conventional high activity aluminide coatings.
LSR® is applied as a slurry and then diffused in a controlled environment furnace for ease of application. The LSR® process is used in manufacturing cells and turbine overhaul plants as a direct replacement for obsolete, uneconomical and environmentally inferior processes such as pack, hexivalent chrome bearing coating systems and electroplating.
The LSR® process is available in enhanced aluminide formulations – Silicon Aluminide, Platinum Aluminide, and Chrome Aluminide – all in slurry format eliminating reliance on undesirable plating processes.
The following Chart identifies Liburdi's various LSR® coatings. It is designed to assist customers in matching and selecting the coating type to the engine experience for various degradation modes.
