Liburdi’s involvement in precision, automated welding evolved from Liburdi Engineering’s quest for the best technology to successfully weld crack sensitive alloys such as nickel based superalloys used for turbine applications. Starting with United Airlines’ 1987 program to automate the hardface welds on shrouded turbine blades, in 1990 Lufthansa commissioned the first video-based, fully automatic Liburdi system for welding high pressure turbine blades. Since then, the Liburdi Automated Welding Systems (LAWS) have become the standard worldwide for welding critical aero engine components from new manufacture to repairs.
Liburdi Automation specializes in a wide variety of joining processes from GTAW (TIG) to Plasma (PAW) and Laser welding. Providing industry with the right tools for their specific needs. As a systems integrator Liburdi is free to research the best technologies and apply them to part specific repairs. Our Pulsweld linear power sources are the best in the industry.
